Discovering My Passion

My name is Brady Hale. I am a UI student that has a background in business management, graphic design, programming, and animation!

Some of the things that make me who I am today are my Wife, my newborn Son, my passion for Art, Love for computers, and my minor addiction to gaming. In my earlier years, I feel like a lot of my desires and passions were seen as not important and impossible ways to turn into a career.

I found my love for art when I was in Junior High. While others were taking gym classes and in Highschool when they had release time having finished all their required classes, I was busy taking EVERY SINGLE art class that my schools offered.

When I returned from my mission, all I wanted to do was get back into something that would be able to express myself artistically, but I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find something that I could support a future family with a reliable income. I decided to go into Business Management because I had no idea what I wanted to do with my college career. After hating every class I took, I soon realized that if I was hating taking the classes, I probably wouldn’t enjoy doing it for the rest of my life.

Graphic Design was the only program I knew of that I could make money and be able to pursue art. Once in the program, I had more of a desire to pursue something that was a little more technical and also could relate to my love for computers and gaming. I figured maybe my calling would be Animation or just straight Programing. Nothing felt like the right fit for me.

I then went in and spoke with my school counselor and kind of gave her the backstory as to why I was switching degrees so much and how I was not fully satisfied with anything so far and couldn’t exactly really sink my desire any of my classes. She then recommended that I should check out the UI/UX program and that a lot of people that feel similarly about the classes that I had already taken, and what I was looking for, switch, and really love the program.

After doing some research and meeting back with her I felt that I had found my calling.

Before now, I never knew how people could say that they enjoyed school. When I first met my (now) wife, I was always amazed by how she would be always so excited to attend class and be in such a great mood every day.

Now that I finally feel like I am where I am supposed to be, I am super excited to learn as fast as I can and really take my art and design skills from average to advanced. I really want to go above and beyond. I really want to create something nobody has ever done before and improve the quality of life that we have, even if it takes me my whole life.
